Week End: What's Going On?

Commerce Dept.-Their computer security fails to prevent, detect and respond to attacks. Hackers can have free reign of the computers and change, copy or delete data. When a password is required the word "password" is often used. The huge computer systems contain data on such subjects as export controls, patents, and trademarks. As they were working on this report they found an unknown hacker in the system from overseas. This problem has been known since 1999 but no solution has been thought up due to finger pointing from officials. The new "Top Technology Official" for the department states that he is embarrassed by the whole situation.
